2015 Supercharged Ford Mustang GT "Frozen Blue"

This shoot was done with a client for my YouTube channel (https://goo.gl/rVKtZD). After completing the video shoot, we did some shots of the car in a parking garage, rolling down the road, and in an alley. This shoot was a great way for me to try some new techniques, and I learned a great deal. This car was wrapped in a color dubbed "Frozen Blue", which is a basically a matte wrap over a chrome blue wrap. This created a very vibrant color that did not reflect anything, unlike most vehicles. This gave me very clean shots without any distracting items within the body.

The following shots were taken in downtown Phoenix just before sunset. My friend Chris was driving the car, and I was out the window getting the shots. For these, I have a suction mount with a ball-head that I constructed for these exact shots. I roll the window down about half way, and then attach the suctions cups to the outside of the window, and then use the ball head to adjust my angle. The suction mount I built has a bar between the two sections that I use as a grip to protect my camera. I use a shutter release cable to make the picture taking easy.

These final shots were my first attempts at light painting. I used a Yongnuo speedlight to illuminate the subject. I basically took a base exposure (with no light), and then took separate pictures for each section of the car I illuminated. Having separate images for each section gave me full control in Photoshop to mask in each layer. I found that setting the layer mode to "screen" gave me the best final product.
